Brad Fournier was born in Leduc, Alberta and raised on a dairy and Angus operation near Hay Lakes, Alberta. An avid 4-H’er, he excelled in public speaking and multi-species livestock judging; which he also competed at a national and international level while attending Lakeland College. He later obtained an undergraduate degree at the University of Saskatchewan in agriculture and a masters of science in molecular genetics; Brad also completed an MBA from Athabasca University.
He started his career as a beef technical expert and researcher for the Government of Alberta. He worked as a public servant for 15 years in various management and executive positions; namely, administering BSE compensation funds, and later research and innovation grants totalling $75M. He later served as the Executive Director - Alberta, Diabetes Foundation, raising philanthropic funds to support diabetes research in Alberta and most recently served as the Director, global development of an Alberta AgTech startup.
Brad is also a very proud father of four children.
